Anxiety can show up in many different ways

You may find yourself overthinking conversations, worrying about what might happen, second-guessing yourself, feeling physically tense or avoiding situations because of how they make you feel.

Sometimes you know there is no real danger, however, your mind and body still react as though there is.

When anxiety and overthinking start affecting everyday life

You may still look like you are coping on the outside while feeling completely different internally.

You might be:

  • replaying conversations or decisions

  • worrying about things that have not happened yet

  • finding it difficult to switch off

  • feeling anxious without always knowing why

  • avoiding situations that once felt manageable

  • struggling with confidence or self-trust

  • seeking reassurance from other people

  • frustrated that logic alone does not change how you feel

For some people, anxiety centres around one particular situation. For others, it begins to affect work, relationships, confidence or everyday choices.

You do not need to have the anxiety figured out before you ask for help

You may already have spent a lot of time trying to understand why you feel this way.

Understanding can be useful, but you do not need to arrive with the perfect explanation or know exactly where the anxiety came from.

We can start with something much simpler:

What would you like to feel different?

From there, we can begin working towards the changes that matter to you.

Therapy for anxiety can help you work towards greater calm, confidence and control

The goal is not to make sure you never feel anxious again. It is to help anxiety have less influence over how you live your life.

Our work may focus on helping you:

● reduce overthinking and rumination

● feel calmer in situations that currently trigger anxiety

● trust yourself and your decisions more

● reduce avoidance

● build confidence in your ability to cope

● feel less controlled by uncertainty

● reconnect with parts of life that anxiety has made more difficult

Everyone’s experience is different, so therapy is shaped around what you want to be different in your own life.
